It’s that time of year again where we celebrate LOVE! Whether you have a special someone or not, Valentine’s Day is celebrated all around the world and every year, there’s always a new activity to show how big your heart is. How perfect that Valentine’s Day this year landed on a Friday!
Here we look at 10 things you can do with your partner/special someone if you’d like to elevate your Valentine’s Day just a bit more:
1. Go on a cruise
Sailing around Sydney Harbour or possibly spending the night on a private yacht on the most romantic night of the year - yes please! Even if you don’t own a boat, you can hire one to help make your night special. A cruise out on the harbour is romantic enough as it is, so all you have to do to make it more memorable is add really good food to the mix. A private dinner for 2 or you can stop at any city wharf and make your way to the vast variety of restaurants Sydney city has to offer.
2. Bridge climb
If you’d like to do something a bit more adventurous, try the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb (just be sure your partner isn’t afraid of heights!). Experience amazing views of Sydney Harbour and learn about the iconic structure during the 440-foot summit.
3. Shark Diving
Daredevils come on out! Do something completely different and give shark diving at Sea Life Sydney Aquarium a go. The experience includes a theory class about the most misunderstood creatures of the sea as well as a scuba skill session to prep you before going in the water. You’ll be able to have various encounters with the sharks present at Sea Life Sydney Aquarium.
4. Cooking Class
Something a little more hands-on and a chance to learn/improve your skills. Choose something from a specific cuisine or maybe something a little more indulgent like chocolate. Either way, the experience should be fun for whoever you do it with, plus how can you say no when food’s involved?
5. Hot Air Balloon Ride
There are numerous deals including a hot air balloon ride that you can choose from on Adrenaline (some even include breakfast!). Make that sunrise a tad more romantic by taking to the skies and viewing everything from the comfort and safety of the many hot air balloon ride experiences Sydney has to offer.
6. Helicopter flight
Another exciting sky activity for you to try. Book a private helicopter ride for two and experience breathtaking views of Sydney. You can also view several deals for this on Adrenaline.
7. Drive-in Movie
Take it back to the 1950s and bring your date to a drive-in movie. They have become increasingly popular over the past couple of years and have also become an activity that you can do even with just friends or family. Just make sure it’s a movie you’ll both enjoy!
The Sydney Observatory is hosting a romantic night tour on Valentine’s Day, so if stargazing is your thing (or even if it isn’t) be sure to check this out. You’ll be able to visit the domes to look through the telescopes and learn about the basics of astronomy. Romantic and educational, what more could you ask for?
9. Couple’s Massage
Treat yourself and your special someone to a relaxing couple’s massage session. With life being so fast-paced, sometimes we just need to slow it down. And sometimes, to show someone you love them, the simplest gestures say everything. A relaxing massage could be exactly what your partner needs, they just haven’t had the time to plan it for themselves, so do it for them!
10. Weekend away
A classic romantic gesture that will never get old. Plan a weekend away with your partner and just enjoy being in each other’s company. A little break from life could be exactly what you need to keep the romance going.
