So, as the weather is showing us, it seems like it’s going to stay warm for quite a while. Yes, the days are scorching and bothersome, and make us want to stay indoors where the air-conditioning is (your electricity bill says hi), but instead of complaining, why don’t we make the most of it? Get yourself up, out of your house and visit one of the many pools that Sydney has to offer.
1. Prince Alfred Park Public Pool
Prince Alfred Park public pool is next to Central station and has a 50m lap pool. The pool was part of the transformation of Prince Alfred Park and opened in 2013. It has many facilities including a splash deck, kiosks, energy efficient lighting and is surrounded by bleachers and umbrellas. It is so family-friendly that you and the family can enjoy it even on our summer’s hottest days.
2. Andrew (Boy) Charlton Pool
Andrew (Boy) Charlton Pool is of course named after the Olympic champion himself and is one of the most modern pools Sydney has to offer. It is only a stroll from the city to Domain and the Royal Botanic Gardens. It was refurbished in 2012 and now includes a heated outdoor pool allowing you to enjoy the pool even on cooler days.
3. Bondi Icebergs
Famous Bondi Icebergs is one of Sydney’s most picturesque pools. Right next to Bondi beach and underneath the Bondi Icebergs bistro where you can grab a bite to eat before or after your time at the pool.
4. North Sydney Olympic Pool
North Sydney Olympic Pool is located between Luna Park and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Not only does it have an outdoor pool, but it also includes an indoor 25m pool and gym, perfect if you’d like to squeeze in a workout before relaxing in the pool. And if you read our previous blog post, you’ll know that Luna Park is offering an awesome unlimited summer pass that gives you access to all the rides and free entry to the pool! Be sure to check that out this summer.

5. Maccallum Pool
Maccallum Pool has become an icon of the lower North Shore and is one of Sydney’s best kept secrets. Maccallum pool is hidden amid historic mansions and the rolling green lawns of Cremorne Point. The pool itself has been around since the 1920s! How incredible to enjoy a day at a pool filled with so much history.
There are only 5 pools mentioned here, but we can assure you that Sydney has so many more amazing pools to offer (we just couldn’t fit them all!). Feel free to check these out or let us know of any pools you’ve been to and enjoyed. We’re located on Macquarie St (inside Fitness First) walking distance from the station and Westfield Parramatta, open 6 days a week, and we take after work bookings.
