Just because we have to be more careful these days, doesn’t mean we should stop celebrating special moments. If you’re a bit stuck on how to celebrate despite restrictions, we’ve got some ideas for you.
These first few ideas have the restrictions of up to 20 people. It may not seem like a lot, but 20 of your closest family and friends can be nice and intimate.
It’s heating up and the afternoons are brighter for longer. A simple BBQ at home can be a nice way to celebrate a special occasion. Sometimes a relaxing afternoon with 20 close people is all you need.
Feel like a change of scenery? Why not plan a getaway? Go for a drive, rent a house, and just enjoy the journey and the moment. There are still border restrictions, but still plenty of places to go for a getaway within NSW. Some examples of places to go are the Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Jervis Bay or Palm Beach. You can either do a day trip or overnight, up to you, but a getaway is still a nice idea to celebrate a special occasion.
I know what you’re thinking, a house party with 20 guests? It could be fun. Get out some good food, good music, dress up (or don’t), games (depending on your guests), and just enjoy the good vibes. Depending on everyone’s state by the end of the night, you could even have a sleepover!
These next suggestions allow up to 30 people:
If you feel like having some fun in the sun, go with your friends or family and spend a day at the beach. There are plenty of warmer days ahead, so you’ll be able to take your pick soon. Just remember to abide by the beach’s COVID-19 safety plans and social distancing with other beach goers.
Picnics are a great way to get everyone together outdoors. It’s also perfect for a casual type of celebration if you don’t want to celebrate big this year. Some examples of picnic spots are Centennial Park, Hyde Park, Parramatta Park and Wendy Whiteley’s Secret Garden.
Of course, our list wouldn’t be complete without a celebration at a restaurant. Don’t feel like planning? Don’t feel like setting up? Don’t want to clean up after? Book at a restaurant! There are so many cuisines to choose from, that’s probably the hardest part. Restaurant bookings have now been increased to 30 people, so dress up and have a nice day/evening out!
It’s great that restrictions are easing up, just make sure you always follow the COVID-19 safety plans and practice social distancing wherever you decide to celebrate.
